Together we can do it!

Dosbarth Helyg - Willow Class

Mrs Walters - Years 1 & 2

Come and share our wonderful Learning journey!

Dosbarth Helyg now has a virtual learning platform which your child can sign into using their unique 'username' and 'password'!

You will find the link to our 'Virtual Learning Platform' on our school website home page labelled 'Go to Learn Anywhere'.  By clicking on this link you will be directed straight to the login page.  Your child has already been given their unique username and password which they must use in order to sign in and access all of the homework activities that I have set.  Each time your child completes a set piece of homework, they will be awarded points which they can use in order to purchase cool items of clothing and accessories for their own Avatar!

So don't forget to check our Learning platform regularly so that you can keep up to date with the homework tasks that I have set!

Useful Class Information for Parents!

Physical Development

P.E lessons for Mrs Walters class will take place every Monday and Wednesday.

Please could you send your child into school with their P.E kit on these days.(joggers/shorts/t-shirt/soft bottom trainers or daps)

Please ensure your child does not have any jewellery on and that hair is tied back.

Fruit money

If your child wishes to have fruit with their milk during mid-morning break, the cost is:

1 week (5 days of fruit) = £1.00

1day (Daily fruit payment) = 20p

You also have the option of sending fruit into school with your child - they will then eat this during mid-morning break.

Home Reading books

All pupils will be given a suitable reading book by their Read Write Inc teacher.

We do ask that as the reading books are part of our brand new Read Write Inc phonics programme, that all children have a waterproof homework bag in which they can transport their reading books to and from school.

New black homework bags which match our new uniform and new school colours are available for purchase from the school secretary - Mrs H. Adams.

Cost of homework bag - £3.95 -with your child's name embroidered on the

                                       front, alongside the school badge.

                                    - £3.00 - without your child's name embroidered on

If you do not wish to purchase a school home reading bag then please send a plastic bag in to school with your child and this can be used instead.

Please try to ensure that your child reads and returns their book to school at least once a week, as we want to ensure that their good progress is maintained.

Each time your child reads with you at home, then please make a record of it in their orange reading record diary.  This acts as a source of communication between home and school and keeps channels open for parents to raise any concerns or discuss their child's reading progress with the class teacher.

Please do not hesitate contact me (Mrs Sarah Walters) if you have any worries or concerns regarding your child's progress or any other school related issues.

Fun in the forest with 'Forest School' activities!

During the Spring Term pupils in Mrs Walters and Mrs Pryse's class have been taking part in 'Forest school' activities.  Miss F. Rogers and Mr L. Jenkins who have been trained as 'Forest school leaders', have been taking pupils out into the school grounds to take part in different activities.  Pupils have really enjoyed the experiences that 'Forest schools' has provided them with and can't wait to continue with it after half term!
